Texas High School Basketball - Athens can't hold off Kaufman
November 23, 2021: Kaufman, TX 75142 The Kaufman Lions basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Athens Hornets to 54 in the Lions non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Lions now sport a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Forney for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 30. Kaufman will battle a Jackrabbits team coming off a 58-51 non-league win over McKinney North (McKinney, TX). The Jackrabbits record now stands at 3-0.
The Hornets (0-4) will now prepare for their contest against Grapeland (Grapeland, TX). The Sandies enter the non-league contest with a 3-0 record. In their last contest, Grapeland nudged Mildred (Corsicana, TX), 75-55, in a non-league contest.
