The Abilene Eagles basketball team scored 44 points and held the visiting Vernon Lions to 31 in the Eagles non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Eagles now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Snyder for a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 28. Abilene will battle a Tigers team coming off a 65-35 non-league win over Colorado (Colorado City, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 3-6.

The Lions (6-1) will now prepare for their contest against Nocona (Nocona, TX). The Indians enter the non-league contest with a 6-0 record. In their last contest, Nocona ran past Trinity (Euless, TX), 56-40, in a non-league contest.
