Belleville West Maroons (Belleville, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL), 63-62 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Belleville West upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to O'Fallon (O'Fallon, IL) to play the Panthers in a Southwestern bout on Friday, December 2. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 1-0. O'Fallon won 76-39 in their recent non-league bout against Confluence Prep Academy (St. Louis, MO)

Next up, the Braves play the Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL) in a Apollo bout, on Thursday, December 1. Mt. Zion will attempt to upgrade on its 3-1 season record.
