Arkansas High School Basketball - Calico Rock holds off Izard County
November 28, 2022: Brockwell, AR 72517 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Calico Rock Pirates (Calico Rock, AR) and the host Izard County Cougars (Brockwell, AR), saw Calico Rock's basketball squad hold off Izard County by a tally of 60-56.
With the victory, Calico Rock improves its record to 5-6 on the campaign. The Pirates host West Side (Greers Ferry, AR) to confront the Eagles in a 1A Region 2 challenge on Thursday, December 1. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 9-1. West Side won 59-58 in their recent league challenge against Shirley (Shirley, AR)
Next up, the Cougars confront the Quitman Bulldogs (Quitman, AR) in a 2A Region 2 challenge, on Wednesday, November 30. Izard County will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 65-42 non-league win over Rural Special (Fox, AR).
