Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Mead Mavericks (Longmont, CO) and the host Frederick Golden Eagles (Frederick, CO), saw Mead's basketball squad hold off Frederick by a tally of 63-60.

With the victory, Mead improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Lakewood (Lakewood, CO) to confront the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 5. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 1-1.

Next up, the Golden Eagles confront the Mountain View Mountain Lions (Loveland, CO) in a 5A/4A Longs Peak challenge, on Tuesday, December 5. Frederick will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Mountain Lions come into the challenge with a 0-2 record after their 50-33 non-league loss to Greeley Central (Greeley, CO).
