Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC), 75-69 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Thomas Jefferson upgrades its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Gryphons travel to Enka (Enka, NC) to play the Jets in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Jets come into the bout with a record of 0-1. Enka lost 80-72 in their recent non-league bout against Pisgah (Canton, NC)

Next up, the Warhorses play the R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 1. Owen will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Hilltoppers come into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 93-58 non-league loss to Chesnee (Chesnee, SC).
