Mountain Island Charter Raptor (Mt. Holly, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Uwharrie Charter Eagles (Asheboro, NC), 57-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mountain Island Charter upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Raptor host Union Academy (Monroe, NC) to clash with the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Wednesday, November 29. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Union Academy lost 43-42 in their recent non-league bout against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 1. Uwharrie Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Comets go into the bout with a 1-1 record after their 59-38 non-league win over South Davidson (Denton, NC).
