The Independence held off the host Briar Woods Falcons football team by a final score of 9-6 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Independence improves its record to 4-6 on the season. The travel to Riverbend (Fredericksburg, VA) to confront the Bears in a non-league outing on Friday, November 10. The Bears go into the outing with a record of 6-4. Riverbend won 34-14 in their recent league outing against Massaponax (Spotsylvania, VA)

With the loss, Briar Woods moves to 7-3 on the season.
