November 30, 2022: Wytheville, VA 24382 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA) and the visiting Northwood Panthers (Saltville, VA), saw George Wythe's basketball squad wallop Northwood by a tally of 62-18.
With the victory, George Wythe improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Maroons travel to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA) to confront the Pioneers in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 9. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 3-0. Fort Chiswell won 44-20 in their recent non-league challenge against Rural Retreat (Rural Retreat, VA)
Next up, the Panthers confront the Patrick Henry Rebels (Glade Spring, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 1. Northwood will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 42-34 non-league loss to Virginia High (Bristol, VA).
