East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Broadmoor Buccaneers (Baton Rouge, LA), 66-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, East Ascension upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA) to play the Green Wave in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Green Wave come into the bout with a record of 3-0. Ponchatoula won 78-48 in their recent non-league bout against Scotlandville (Baton Rouge, LA)

Next up, the Buccaneers play the Capitol Lions (Baton Rouge, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, November 30. Broadmoor will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 69-40 non-league loss to Plaquemine (Plaquemine, LA).
