Covington Owls (Covington, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Methodist Children's Home Bulldogs (Waco, TX), 48-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Covington upgrades its record to 5-1 on the season. The Owls travel to Avalon (Avalon, TX) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Friday, December 1. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-3. Avalon won 43-26 in their recent non-league bout against Mount Calm (Mount Calm, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Mount Calm (Mount Calm, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 1. Methodist Children's Home will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 43-26 non-league loss to Avalon (Avalon, TX).
