Iowa High School Basketball - Newton crushes Marshalltown
November 30, 2023: Marshalltown, IA 50158 Newton Cardinals (Newton, IA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Marshalltown Bobcats (Marshalltown, IA), 59-33 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Newton improves its record to 1-1 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Indianola (Indianola, IA) to confront the Indians in a Little Hawkeye battle on Friday, December 1. The Indians come into the battle with a record of 0-1. Indianola lost 53-35 in their recent non-league battle against Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA)
The Bobcats (0-2) will now prepare for their battle against Urbandale (Urbandale, IA). The J-Hawks come into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Urbandale was overwhelmed by Ankeny Centennial (Ankeny, IA), 64-51, in a non-league battle.
