November 30, 2023: Mena, AR 71953 In Thursday's non-league outing, the Acorn Tigers (Mena, AR) basketball squad beat the visiting Scranton Rockets (Scranton, AR), by a count of 52-33.
The Tigers (10-2) will now prepare for their outing against Caddo Hills (Norman, AR). The Indians go into the 2A Region 7 outing with a 5-2 record. In their last outing, Caddo Hills was topped by Maumelle Charter (Maumelle, AR), 45-32, in a non-league outing.
The Rockets now hold a 9-4 record. They play next when they host Arkansas School for the Deaf for a 1A Region 4 outing on Tuesday, December 5. Scranton will clash with a Leopards squad coming off a 39-19 non-league win over Washington School for the Deaf (Vancouver, WA). The Leopards record now stands at 4-2.
