Virginia High School Volleyball - Hopewell bounced by New Kent
November 5, 2025: New Kent, VA 23124 New Kent Trojans (New Kent, VA) boosters left the game pleased Wednesday as they witnessed their volleyball team overcome the visiting Hopewell Blue Devils (Hopewell, VA), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.
The Trojans (17-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Lakeland (Suffolk, VA). The Cavaliers come into the non-league challenge with a 11-14 record. In their last challenge, Lakeland beat Heritage (Newport News, VA), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.
Match Summary
The number one-seeded New Kent Lady Trojans advanced to the semifinal round of the Region 3A tournament with a three-set sweep of their Bay Rivers rival York Falcons, 25-11, 25-12, 25-20. New Kent was able to play all 15 available players in the match. NK will face the number four seed, Lakeview, in the semifinals next Tuesday. Assuming NK advances to the Regional Championship, they will likely face Tabb, who ended their regular season tied for third in Bay Rivers.
