In Friday's non-league contest, the host Combine Academy Varsity Goats basketball team scored a close 56-55 triumph over the Greater Vision Academy Lions.

The Goats (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Riverside Christian Academy (Fayetteville, NC). The Royals enter the non-league match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Riverside Christian Academy got by Living Water Christian (Jacksonville, NC), 72-53, in a non-league match.
