In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Americas Trail Blazers basketball team scored a close 54-52 triumph over the Franklin Cougars.

The Trail Blazers (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Pebble Hills (El Paso, TX). The Spartans go into the non-league contest with a 0-0 record.
