Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Raleigh Lions (Raleigh, MS), 67-56 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Newton advances its record to 1-0 on the year. The Tigers travel to Philadelphia (Philadelphia, MS) to battle the Tornadoes in a non-league contest on Tuesday, November 18. The Tornadoes go into the contest with a record of 0-1.
