The Newton Cardinals basketball squad (Newton, IA), was beaten 57-46 in Thursday's non-league outing with the visiting Marshalltown Bobcats (Marshalltown, IA)

The Bobcats (2-1) will now prepare for their outing against Urbandale (Urbandale, IA). The J-Hawks go into the non-league outing with a 0-1 record. In their last outing, Urbandale was beaten by Ankeny Centennial (Ankeny, IA), 52-21, in a non-league outing.

The Cardinals now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Indianola for a Little Hawkeye outing on Friday, December 2. Newton will clash with a Indians squad coming off a 75-71 non-league win over Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA). The Indians record now stands at 1-0.
