The New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC) basketball nipped the host Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC), 51-44 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Bears (1-1) will now prepare for their test against White Oak (Jacksonville, NC). The Vikings go into the non-league test with a 2-1 record.

The Pirates now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Dixon for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 6. Topsail will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 53-45 non-league win over Jones (Trenton, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-1.
