Steward Spartans (Richmond, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Varina Blue Devils (Richmond, VA), 46-44 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Steward upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to St. Christopher's (Richmond, VA) to play the Saints in a non-league bout on Friday, December 2. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 1-0. St. Christopher's won 67-47 in their recent non-league bout against Freeman (Richmond, VA)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Patrick Henry Patriots (Ashland, VA) in a Capital bout, on Tuesday, December 6. Varina will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 52-49 non-league loss to Glen Allen (Glen Allen, VA).
