Texas High School Basketball - Beckville knocked off by Athens
December 1, 2023: Athens, TX 75751 The Athens Hornets basketball team scored 65 points and held the visiting Beckville Bearcats to 57 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Friday.
The Hornets now sport a 6-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Highland Park for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 2. Athens will battle a Scots team coming off a 58-52 non-league win over Longview (Longview, TX). The Scots record now stands at 7-5.
The Bearcats (3-1) will now prepare for their contest against Longview (Longview, TX). The Lobos enter the non-league contest with a 5-2 record. In their last contest, Longview was defeated by Highland Park (Dallas, TX), 58-52, in a non-league contest.
