The Springport Spartans basketball team scored 61 points and limited the visiting Vandercook Lake Jayhawks to 22 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Monday.

The Spartans now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Parchment for a non-league game on Wednesday, December 3. Springport will confront a Panthers team coming off a 54-45 non-league win over Martin (Martin, MI). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Vandercook Lake drops to 0-1 on the year. The Jayhawks travel to Addison (Addison, MI) to clash with the Panthers in a Cascades outing on Thursday, December 4. The Panthers enter the outing with a record of 0-0.
