Maryland High School Basketball - Bishop Walsh can't hold off Portage

December 2, 2022: Cumberland, MD 21502

The Portage Mustangs basketball team scored 64 points and held the host Bishop Walsh Spartans to 58 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Westmont Hilltop for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 3. Portage will battle a Hilltoppers team coming off a 63-47 non-league win over Bishop Carroll (Ebensburg, PA). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 1-0.

The Spartans (1-5) will now prepare for their contest against Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, KS). The Buffaloes enter the non-league contest with a 4-2 record. In their last contest, Sunrise Christian Academy nudged Legacy School of Sport Sciences (Spring, TX), 79-47, in a non-league contest.
