The Merrol Hyde Magnet Hawks basketball team scored 78 points and held the host Independence Academy Lions to 8 in the Hawks non-league triumph on Friday.

The Hawks now sport a 2-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Trousdale County for a 1A District 8 contest on Tuesday, December 6. Merrol Hyde Magnet will battle a Yellowjackets team coming off a 53-33 non-league win over Red Boiling Springs (Red Boiling Springs, TN). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 2-3.
