The Pender Patriots basketball team (Burgaw, NC), was overwhelmed 68-40 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC)

The Buccaneers now possess a 5-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jack Britt for a non-league battle on Tuesday, December 6. Laney will battle a Buccaneers team coming off a 63-33 non-league loss to Hoggard (Wilmington, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 1-5.

The Patriots (0-3) will now prepare for their battle against Richlands (Richlands, NC). The Wildcats come into the non-league battle with a 1-2 record. In their last battle, Richlands was overwhelmed by Southwest Onslow (Jacksonville, NC), 89-64, in a non-league battle.
