The Nash Central Bulldogs (Rocky Mount, NC) basketball nipped the host SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC), 57-56 in Friday's non-league test.

The Bulldogs (2-1) will now prepare for their test against Southern Nash (Bailey, NC). The Firebirds go into the 2A/3A Conference 17 test with a 3-0 record. In their last test, Southern Nash got by South Granville (Creedmoor, NC), 76-70, in a non-league test.

The Cougars now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Fike for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 6. SouthWest Edgecombe will encounter a Demons squad coming off a 60-55 non-league loss to Beddingfield (Wilson, NC). The Demons record now stands at 1-3.
