Michigan High School Basketball - Alpena can't hold off Escanaba
December 2, 2023: Alpena, MI 49707 The Escanaba Eskymos basketball team scored 59 points and restricted the host Alpena Wildcats to 55 in the Eskymos non-league victory on Saturday.
The Eskymos now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Negaunee for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 5. Escanaba will battle a Miners team coming off a 61-39 league loss to Iron Mountain (Iron Mountain, MI). The Miners record now stands at 0-2.
The Wildcats (0-2) will now prepare for their contest against Sault Area (Sault St. Marie, MI). The Blue Devils come into the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Sault Area was nudged by Marquette (Marquette, MI), 57-54, in a non-league contest.
