Progreso Red Ants (Progreso, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Freer Buckaroos (Freer, TX), 43-39 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Progreso upgrades its record to 3-4 on the season. The Red Ants travel to Lyford (Lyford, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 3-6. Lyford lost 42-35 in their recent non-league bout against Edinburg (Edinburg, TX)

Next up, the Buckaroos play the Cotulla Cowboys (Cotulla, TX) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Freer will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Cowboys go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 89-50 non-league loss to Sunnybrook Christian (San Antonio, TX).
