Iowa High School Basketball - Marion nips Washington
December 2, 2023: Marion, IA 52302 Marion Wolves (Marion, IA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Washington Warriors (Cedar Rapids, IA), 56-49 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Marion upgrades its record to 4-0 on the campaign. The Wolves host Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA) to play the Raiders in a WAMAC - West bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 2-1. Williamsburg lost 71-43 in their recent non-league bout against Solon (Solon, IA)
Next up, the Warriors play the Cedar Falls Tigers (Cedar Falls, IA) in a Mississippi Valley bout, on Tuesday, December 5. Washington will attempt to upgrade on its 2-3 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 66-31 league win over Hempstead (Dubuque, IA).
