The Whitesboro Bearcats (Whitesboro, TX) basketball nipped the host Van Alstyne Panthers (Van Alstyne, TX), 36-31 in Saturday's non-league test.

The Bearcats (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Muenster (Muenster, TX). The Hornets go into the non-league test with a 8-2 record. In their last test, Muenster got by Tom Bean (Tom Bean, TX), 64-20, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 5-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Farmersville for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 7. Van Alstyne will meet a Farmers team coming off a 59-23 non-league loss to Rains (Emory, TX). The Farmers record now stands at 2-10.
