December 3, 2021: Albemarle, NC 28001 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC) and the host Albemarle Bulldogs (Albemarle, NC), saw West Stanly's basketball squad hold off Albemarle by a count of 42-41.
With the victory, West Stanly upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Colts host Piedmont (Monroe, NC) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 7. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 1-3. Piedmont lost 48-43 in their recent non-league challenge against Mount Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, NC)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 7. Albemarle will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 48-45 non-league loss to Chesterfield (Chesterfield, SC).
