Cushing Academy Penguins (Ashburnham, MA) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Newman AAA Cardinals (Boston, MA), 55-45 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cushing Academy upgrades its record to 2-1 on the season. The Penguins travel to Wilbraham & Monson Academy (Wilbraham, MA) to play the Titans in a NEPSAC Freelance bout on Wednesday, December 6. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 0-1. Wilbraham & Monson Academy lost 68-62 in their recent non-league bout against MacDuffie (Granby, MA)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Varsity Opponent (, ) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 6. Newman AAA will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record.
