Maryland High School Basketball - Atholton topped by Parkville
December 5, 2022: Baltimore, MD 21234 The Parkville Knights basketball team scored 81 points and restricted the visiting Atholton Raiders to 64 in the Knights non-league victory on Monday.
The Knights now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Calvert Hall for a non-league contest on Friday, December 9. Parkville will battle a Cardinals team coming off a 59-45 non-league loss to Archbishop Spalding (Severn, MD). The Cardinals record now stands at 5-3.
The Raiders (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Centennial (Ellicott City, MD). The Eagles come into the Howard County contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Centennial was defeated by Oakland Mills (Columbia, MD), 60-49, in a league contest.
First Quarter
The Raiders got off to a slow start only maKing 3 of 13 shots in the quarter, and also commited 9 turnovers..
Second Quarter
The Raidersshot a little better in the second quarter but the Knights went on a real hot streak makng 4 3 pointers in the second quarter to lead 39-22
Third Quarter
The Raiders cut the lead to 11 after three quarters.
Fourth Quarter
The Raides then cut the lead to 56-51, before the arkville wet on another hot treak to pulll away to the 81-64 final score.
All told 21 turnovers were hard to overcome.
