December 5, 2023: Stanton, TX 79782 Merkel Badgers (Merkel, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Stanton Buffaloes (Stanton, TX), 61-50 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Merkel upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Badgers travel to Reagan County (Big Lake, TX) to clash with the Owls in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 7. The Owls go into the bout with a record of 5-0. Reagan County won 84-47 in their recent non-league bout against Lake View (San Angelo, TX)
Next up, the Buffaloes clash with the Pecos Eagles (Pecos, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 7. Stanton will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 0-8 record after their 60-55 non-league loss to Kermit (Kermit, TX).
