The Union Academy Cardinals (Monroe, NC) basketball crushed the visiting Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC), 72-30 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Cardinals now possess a 2-1 record. They play next when they travel to Central Academy for a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 10. Union Academy will play a Cougars team coming off a 45-36 non-league loss to Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 1-7.

With the loss, Montgomery Central falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Timberwolves host Anson (Wadesboro, NC) to play the Bearcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 10.
