The Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers (Newtown Square, PA) basketball edged the host Chichester Eagles (Boothwyn, PA), 48-45 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Fightin' Tigers now possess a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Springfield for a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 10. Marple Newtown will play a Cougars team coming off a 41-29 non-league loss to Perkiomen Valley (Collegeville, PA). The Cougars record now stands at 0-1.
