Iowa High School Basketball - South Winneshiek fells East Buchanan
December 7, 2023: Winthrop, IA 50682 South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host East Buchanan Buccaneers (Winthrop, IA), 79-66 in a non-league bout.
With the win, South Winneshiek upgrades its record to 4-0 on the season. The Warriors host Mabel-Canton (Mabel, MN) to clash with the Cougars in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 1-3. Mabel-Canton lost 81-45 in their recent league bout against Southland (Adams, MN)
Next up, the Buccaneers clash with the Springville Orioles (Springville, IA) in a Tri-Rivers game, on Friday, December 8. East Buchanan will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record. The Orioles enter the game with a 3-2 record after their 64-58 non-league loss to Lisbon (Lisbon, IA).
