North Carolina High School Basketball - Cardinal Gibbons crushes Ashley

December 8, 2023: Wilmington, NC 28412

Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders (Raleigh, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), 58-32 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cardinal Gibbons upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Crusaders travel to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 2-0. New Hanover won 64-38 in their recent non-league bout against Coastal Christian (Wilmington, NC)

Next up, the Screaming Eagle play the South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC) in a 3A/4A Mideastern bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Ashley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Cougars go into the bout with a 2-3 record after their 55-44 non-league win over Whiteville (Whiteville, NC).
