California High School Basketball - Yorba Linda holds off Capistrano Valley
December 8, 2023: Yorba Linda, CA 92886 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Yorba Linda Mustangs (Yorba Linda, CA) and the visiting Capistrano Valley Cougars (Mission Viejo, CA), saw Yorba Linda's basketball squad hold off Capistrano Valley by a tally of 44-38.
With the victory, Yorba Linda improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Los Altos (Hacienda Heights, CA) to confront the Conquerors in a non-league challenge on Saturday, December 9. The Conquerors come into the challenge with a record of 6-4. Los Altos won 84-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Pomona (Pomona, CA)
Next up, the Cougars confront the La Serna Lancers (Whittier, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 11. Capistrano Valley will attempt to improve on its 5-5 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 6-8 record after their 67-66 non-league loss to Schurr (Montebello, CA).
