December 8, 2023: Nordheim, TX 78141 The Corpus Christi United Watchmen (Corpus Christi, TX) basketball knocked off the host Nordheim Pirates (Nordheim, TX), 78-65 in Friday's non-league test.
The Watchmen (3-5) will now prepare for their test against John Paul II (Corpus Christi, TX). The Centurions go into the non-league test with a 7-6 record. In their last test, John Paul II notched a victory over Robstown (Robstown, TX), 46-41, in a non-league test.
The Pirates now own a 2-4 record. They play next when they travel to Waelder for a 1A Region IV District 30 test on Friday, December 15.

Multiple Players Team Up To Lead Watchmen United Varsity Past Nordheim Varsity
Josh Lindsey scored 24 points and Ben Lopez had a big game as Watchmen United Varsity defeated Nordheim Varsity, 78-65, on Friday. Lopez scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Watchmen United Varsity fell behind 41-36 at halftime before claiming victory in the end. Trailing 56-55, Watchmen United Varsity went on a 13-point run to take the lead.
The fourth quarter was the best for Watchmen United as they outscored Nordheim
Varsity 23-9. Watchmen United rebounded the ball well, collecting 50 rebounds. Peter Paulson led the team with 14 rebounds. Watchmen United passed the ball well with 20 assists on 31 made baskets. Lindsey led the team with seven assists. Watchmen United's ball pressure forced 15 steals in the game. Lopez led the team with four steals. Also contributing for Watchmen United were Paulson (12 points), Bouma (9 points), Judah J (8 points), Emanuel L (3 points), and Joshua J (2 points).
