South Dakota High School Basketball - Avon holds off Marty Indian
December 8, 2023: Marty, SD 57361 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Avon Pirates (Avon, SD) and the host Marty Indian Braves (Marty, SD), saw Avon's basketball squad hold off Marty Indian by a tally of 58-54.
With the victory, Avon improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to Corsica/Stickney (Corsica, SD) to confront the Jaguars in a B Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, December 12. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a record of 1-1. Corsica/Stickney won 48-11 in their recent league challenge against Colome (Colome, SD)
Next up, the Braves confront the Lower Brule Sioux (Lower Brule, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 9. Marty Indian will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record.
