Sault Area Blue Devils (Sault St. Marie, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Escanaba Eskymos (Escanaba, MI), 47-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Sault Area upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Alpena (Alpena, MI) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Monday, December 18. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 0-1.

Next up, the Eskymos play the Bark River-Harris Broncos (Harris, MI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 15. Escanaba will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
