Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) and the visiting Pickett County Bobcats (Byrdstown, TN), saw Russell County's basketball squad wallop Pickett County by a tally of 71-46.

With the victory, Russell County improves its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Lakers host Metcalfe County (Edmonton, KY) to play the Hornets in a District 16 challenge on Tuesday, December 13. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 3-2. Metcalfe County won 53-49 in their recent league challenge against Clinton County (Albany, KY)

Next up, the Bobcats play the East Robertson Indians (Cross Plains, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 17. Pickett County will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record.
