In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Hazleton Area Cougars basketball team scored a tight 54-47 triumph over the Pottsville Crimson Tide.

In their next game, the Cougars meet the Reading Red KNights (Reading, PA) in a non-league match, on Monday, December 11. Hazleton Area will attempt to move on its 2-1 season record. The Red KNights enter the match with a 1-2 record after their 61-47 non-league loss to Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic (Drexel Hill, PA).
