Washington Academy Raiders (East Machias, ME) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Foxcroft Academy Ponies (Dover-Foxcroft, ME), 47-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Washington Academy upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Raiders host Woodland (Baileyville, ME) to clash with the Dragons in a non-league bout on Friday, December 15. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 1-1. Woodland lost 47-36 in their recent league bout against Machias (Machias, ME)

Next up, the Ponies clash with the Ellsworth Eagles (Ellsworth, ME) in a B North bout, on Wednesday, December 13. Foxcroft Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
