Wallace Wildcats (Wallace, NE) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Hyannis Longhorns (Hyannis, NE), 38-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wallace upgrades its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Sutherland (Sutherland, NE) to play the Sailors in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Sailors come into the bout with a record of 1-3. Sutherland won 40-19 in their recent non-league bout against Sandhills Valley (Stapleton, NE)

Next up, the Longhorns play the Gordon-Rushville Mustangs (Gordon, NE) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Hyannis will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 3-1 record after their 63-51 league loss to Chadron (Chadron, NE).
