Madeira Snails (McLean, VA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Oakcrest Chargers (McLean, VA), 55-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Madeira upgrades its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Snails host Holton-Arms (Bethesda, MD) to play the in a Girls Independent - Division 2 bout on Tuesday, December 12. The come into the bout with a record of 4-3. Holton-Arms lost 37-34 in their recent league bout against Flint Hill (Oakton, VA)

Next up, the Chargers play the Foxcroft None (Middleburg, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 11. Oakcrest will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The None come into the bout with a 1-0 record after their 50-2 league win over Tandem Friends (Charlottesville, VA).
