Virginia High School Basketball - Churchland tops Lafayette
December 9, 2023: Portsmouth, VA 23703 Churchland Truckers (Portsmouth, VA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Lafayette Rams (Williamsburg, VA), 58-48 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Churchland upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Truckers travel to Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA) to play the Bruins in a bout on Saturday, December 9. The Bruins come into the bout with a record of 2-1. Western Branch won 60-39 in their recent non-league bout against Manor (Portsmouth, VA)
Next up, the Rams play the York Falcons (Yorktown, VA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 13. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Falcons come into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 77-41 non-league loss to Warhill (Williamsburg, VA).
