In Monday's non-league test, the Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA) basketball squad defeated the host Knoch Knights (Saxonburg, PA), by a final score of 48-29.

Next, the Fightin' Planets clash with the South Fayette Lions (McDonald, PA) in a WPIAL 6A 2 test, on Thursday, December 12. Mars will attempt to upgrade on its 2-1 season record. The Lions come into the test with a 4-0 record after their 51-28 non-league win over Mt. Lebanon (Pittsburgh, PA).

The Knights (0-5) will now prepare for their test against Valley (New Kensington, PA). The Vikings come into the WPIAL 4A 1 test with a 1-1 record.
