Arkansas High School Basketball - Baptist Prep tops Newport
December 1, 2022: Little Rock, AR 72223 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Baptist Prep Eagles (Little Rock, AR) and the visiting Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR), saw Baptist Prep's basketball squad knock off Newport by a tally of 44-34.
With the victory, Baptist Prep improves its record to 5-0 on the campaign. The Eagles host Perryville (Perryville, AR) to play the Mustangs in a 3A Region 5 challenge on Friday, December 9. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 7-3. Perryville lost 68-28 in their recent league challenge against Lamar (Lamar, AR)
Next up, the Greyhounds play the Melbourne Bearkatz (Melbourne, AR) in a 3A Region 2 challenge, on Tuesday, December 6. Newport will attempt to improve on its 5-3 season record.
